WinBeam, Inc., a Pennsylvania
based regional wireless Internet service provider,
announces the election of Mr. John W. Bunce as
its new president, effective immediately.

immediately.
Mr. Bunce joined the board of directors
of WinBeam in January of 2002.
At the request of the board, he began a
consulting project on WinBeam’s operating two-way
wireless MMDS system in Altoona, Pennsylvania
during March, 2002.
On April 20, 2002, after an executive search
by the board’s search committee, the board decided
to elect Mr. John Bunce as the new president of
WinBeam, Inc. effective immediately.
Mr. Bunce has approximately
30 years of managerial and operational experience.
Most recently, he was president of PTS,
a wireless construction services company funded
by Saratoga Partners.
From
September 1989 to January 2000,
he was president of Satec Systems Corporation,
a Grove City Pennsylvania based manufacturer of
a broad line of material testing equipment.
During Mr. Bunce’s tenure, the business
grew from $7.6 million in revenues to $19 million
and was ultimately sold to Instron Corporation.
From November 1983 to
November 1988, Mr. Bunce founded and ran Intellitech
with the inventor, a venture capital based startup,
which developed electronic filters for the hearing
aid and communications markets.
This business was later sold to Starkey
Labs.
From 1978 through 1983,
Mr. Bunce worked for Mark Controls Corporation.
He began as director of corporate development
and finished as vice president of marketing and
sales for the $25 million water systems component
division.
Mr. Bunce is a former McKinsey
consultant and US Navy Seabee.
He received his Bachelor of Science in
Electrical Engineering from M.I.T. in 1971 and
is a Baker Scholar and Wolfe Award winner from
the Harvard Business School, where he obtained
his MBA in 1977.
