WinBeam signed a long term tower lease with Clearshot
Communications on Iron's Mountain in Cumberland,
MD. Clearshot recently received a no hazard determination
from the FAA to construct the tower, which is
approximately three miles from downtown Cumberland.
Clearshot projects completion of tower construction
during the second quarter of 2001. Upon completion
of tower construction, WinBeam expects to build
a facility at the base of the tower to house its
base station equipment. The tower site will enable
WinBeam to provide broadband fixed wireless services
to most of Cumberland, Maryland. The Iron's Mountain
tower also provides line of sight to WinBeam's
applied for hub at Little Savage Mountain. This
second cellsite is capable of seeing the Frostburg,
Maryland valley. The filing contemplates the use
of MDS-1 and 2A for upstream and the E and F channel
groups for downstream.
