Quaker Capital Partners I, LP, an investment partnership
managed by Quaker Capital Management Corp., its
investors and WinBeam management provide $4.275
million in initial venture capital funding to
WinBeam. Quaker Capital Management Corp., a Pittsburgh
based investment manager with extensive investment
experience in MMDS and fixed wireless technologies,
agreed to provide a $3.75 million irrevocable
equity line of credit to WinBeam. One of Quaker's
investors, its employees and the founding consulting
operators of also co-invested, bringing the total
committed equity funds to $4.275 million. Quaker
Capital management formerly held positions in
American Telecasting, Wireless One, CS Wireless
and CAI Wireless before all were acquired by Sprint
or Worldcom. Quaker currently is one of the largest
shareholders in Nucentrix Broadband Networks,
Inc. Nucentrix is the only pure play publicly
held MMDS company. It holds spectrum passing approximately
9 million households, predominately in the southwest.
