Rich
Alloway - Chief Technical Officer
Rich
spent most of his childhood in Grove City,
PA and attended California
University of Pennsylvania where he majored
in Computer Science and
minored in Electrical Engineering. While
at college, Rich obtained
two FCC licenses... one for Non-Commercial
Radio Emmisions and one for
Amateur Radio. After college, Rich worked
for Black Box as a
Connectivity Group Specialist. Rich is also
an original employee
hired into the dialup service which has
transformed since 1996 into
Winbeam's Corporate Center. Rich's specialties
include Unix/Linux
operating systems, RF (Radio Frequency)
engineering and network design,
implemention and troubleshooting. Rich presently
holds FCC licenses
granting all-mode privileges from 1.8MHz
to over 300GHz as well as FCC VE
(Volunteer Examiner) credentials.
Eric
Beaver
- Blair
County Operations Manager
Eric
Beaver is Winbeam’s Blair County Operations
Manager. A native of Altoona, Eric received
his B.S. in mechanical engineering, with
a focus in computer aided design, development
and control, from Penn State University
in 2002. Eric is experienced in a broad
range of engineering disciplines, which
he developed both in the classroom and as
a cooperative engineer with a Fortune 500
company where he was a key participant in
the development of groundbreaking research
and operational protocol. Eric has experience
in networking, computer programming, and
computer control. Eric is responsible for
all operations of Winbeam’s Blair
County broadband network, installation of
new customer services and supporting Winbeam’s
existing customer base.
Ken
Hansen - Network System Administrator
Ken
was born and raised in Jamestown, NY and
attended Jamestown Community College where
he majored in Computer Science. After college,
Ken worked at WCA Hospital in the MIS department
where he maintained the day to day operations
of their network (both Mainframe and PC
using Novell). After WCA Hospital, Ken moved
out to work at Comnet of Wapakoneta Ohio,
which did support for Ohio's largest Internet
provider, Bright.net. Ken rose to Assistant
Supervisor of the Call Center and Software
Developer for their customized Internet
software. After Ken left Comnet in 1998,
he worked for Stargate Industries in Pittsburgh
PA in tech support and in 1999 Ken took
a daylight tech support job in Greensburg
which again Ken attained Technical Support
Supervisor and then in 2001 became part
of Network Operations in which Ken excelled
with design and implementation of Cisco
routers and IP management. Ken is responsible
for the network hardware and IP resources
for the company as well as assisting the
Chief Technical Officer with design and
implimentation of wireless services and
overall network design.
